At Cumberland Veterinary Clinic, we have access to digital radiology. This allows us to minimize your pet’s exposure to radiation and quickly obtain the images needed to obtain diagnoses.

How do you use x-ray and radiology services at your clinic?

We use radiographs to diagnose conditions affecting your dog’s bones or internal organs that cannot be properly diagnosed through physical examination alone.

How do you prepare your dog for their x-ray appointment?

Radiographs are not always something that you can prepare for. They often need to be done on short notice if your dog has experienced an injury. Sometimes, your dog will need sedation to allow us to obtain the required images. In this case, our team will discuss the appropriate protocol for your dog.

How much do dog x-ray examinations cost?

The cost can vary depending on how many views are required, if sedation will be needed or if the veterinarian feels that we need to consult with a board certified radiologist to obtain a complete diagnosis for your dog. We will provide you with an estimate before proceeding.
